THEATRE ARTS CLASSES
Encore Theatre at Nest & Bloom
Encore Theatre Company was born from its founders’ fifteen years of experience teaching, writing, and directing children’s theatre. Our classes offer high quality, fun, theatre training taught exclusively by professionally trained, actors. We imagine, we create, we perform, but we also build something even more valuable, confidence for life. We empower the students to find their voices and inspire them to be bold. Students can expect to learn and develop key performance skills within an inclusive and supportive environment. All classes build towards end of year public performance.

Creativity, movement, music, and story come together in this playful introduction to theatre. Through games, imagination, movement and song our Stage Explorers discover how to use their voice, express ideas, and bring characters to life. Throughout the year, children will find confidence in their imagination, develop their creativity and have fun exploring engaging and age-appropriate themes. The course gently leads towards a public performance, giving each child the opportunity to experience the joy of sharing their work on a stage.

Rising Stars begin developing their core performance skills through improvisation, structured drama exercises, and scene-based work. The focus is on fun, creativity, and discovering new ways of performing through a wide range of theatre styles. Students explore skills from circus and mask work to movement, dance, and choral performance, helping them expand their understanding of what theatre can be. As they grow in confidence, they learn how to listen, respond, and work as part of an ensemble. They are encouraged to explore all aspects of theatre and actively contribute towards an end-of-year public performance.

Our teen and pre-teen class gives students the opportunity to develop strong, transferable performance skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience, students build core techniques in voice, movement, stage craft, and improvisation. With a strong focus on ensemble work, collaboration, and creativity, the curriculum is shaped around the group, exploring scene study, monologues, movement, physical theatre, song, and devising. The Ensemble is a place to make friends, take creative risks, and grow in confidence as part of a welcoming theatre community, developing skills that extend well beyond the stage. The year culminates in a public performance, giving students the chance to share their work with confidence.
